Dr. Tasha Malhotra
Tasha is the co-founder of Pediatric Therapy Specialists, a private pediatric therapy clinic. She has been a practicing occupational therapist for 27 years and has dedicated her career to providing children the tools to be successful in life. Her commitment is to the child as a whole, and educating the family on how to cope with the challenges faced by the child, so each can be a team player in the accomplishment of positive gains.
She has extensive experience in utilizing Sensory Integration (SI) to promote function and independence in children with poor sensory regulation, developmental delays, and neurological disorders. She has experience working with diverse pediatric populations in a variety of clinical settings in addition to the private clinic setting. These settings include home health care, early intervention, pediatric acute care, and outpatient rehabilitation. These experiences have allowed her to view the child in each stage of rehabilitation with follow-through to community integration. Tasha has also worked in numerous private schools developing programs for effective implementation of OT services to more effectively meet the specific needs of the students.
Tasha has worked on various teams in her career, including five years on a
multidisciplinary Feeding Team. She supervises Level I and Level II fieldwork students and has presented at national conferences (APTA) and to hospital based medical staff and other professionals on numerous topics related to the role of OT.
In addition, Tasha has a personal interest in volunteer experiences locally and internationally to educate in areas where therapies are not available to families. She was part of a medical team to assist in the development of a new medical program in Pignon, Haiti. She has also worked in coordination with physical therapy in the initiation of a program to train therapists and assistants at a hospital in Antigua, Guatemala. Her last trip was in 2019 to Guatemala City and Chiquimula as part of the Tesoro project (www.tesoroproject.org) to offer weeklong inter-professional rehabilitation service projects to people without access to physical therapy, occupational therapy, and speech therapy.

Vicky Block
Vicky’s interest in treating children developed while studying at Duke University, where she chose pediatrics as her focus and completed an internship at Kennedy Krieger Institute in Baltimore. After graduation, she joined the physical medicine and rehabilitation department at Children’s National Medical Center. At CNMC, Vicky worked with patients on the hemotology/oncology, respiratory, neurosurgical, orthopedic, and burn units, and treated individuals from the Spina Bifida and Orthopedic Clinics. In addition, she served as a liaison for the Rheumatology Clinic, helping to orient new therapists to issues and treatments for patients with rheumatological diseases. Vicky also casted and fabricated orthoses for both the inpatient and outpatient population. Over the past decade, Vicky has treated individuals in outpatient clinics (both pediatric and orthopedic) and home health settings, provided aquatic therapy, and worked with students in the Falls Church City School System. These varied settings have allowed her the opportunity to expand her knowledge of physical therapy treatment for patients of all different ages with a myriad of diagnoses.
Vicky is excited to be a part of Pediatric Therapy Specialists and to work with children and their families to address their gross motor and developmental concerns.
